Is Univera Just A MLM Scam?

January 20th, 2010

Is Univera a MLM scam? Let’s find out. Univera is a health and wellness company that provides different kinds of nutritional supplements and services, but Univera is also a network marketing company and is therefore providing a business opportunity as well. By you reading this article I assume that you are having some doubts whether this really is a good opportunity or if it’s just a MLM scam. These doubts are very understandable, because there certainly are some true concerns when it comes to growing your own Univera business. I will now go through the pros and cons and then finally conclude whether Univera is something you should get involved with, or if it’s just a MLM scam.

Let’s start with the good

Univera was founded back in 1988 and has therefore been around for some years now. The founder was a Korean businessman, YunHo Lee, who suffered from bad health for many years and nothing seemed to be helping him until a friend gave him some juice from a Aloe Vera plant, which (according to the story) made a miraculous recovery.

Many, if not most people are looking for ways to become more healthy, and the health and wellness industry is therefore a good industry, and there is certainly a market for Univera’s products. As I mentioned before Univera has different kinds of nutritional supplements, but the product that Univera is known for, is the AgelessXtra nutritional supplement.

Being a network marketing company, the compensation plan is very important, and with Univera you can actually make up to 15 % on your direct signups and up to 5 % on your downline. This is not bad at all, and overall Univera seems as a great company with not only good products but also and opportunity to really make some money.

But now to the bad

Again, Univera IS a network marketing company the techniques and methods that they tell their distributors to use is simple just not working. These techniques worked just great for 50 years ago, but in today’s society all they cause is the 97 % high failure rate in this industry. Univera recommends their distributors to work their “warm market”, trying to grow their business by selling these products to their friends and family members and furthermore get some of them to become distributors as well. These techniques have been proven wrong over and over again, but still Univera keeps telling their distributors that this is the way to grow a network marketing business, and it’s NOT.

Finally the conclusion

Univera is not a MLM scam! But with that being said, you have to know that you can’t succeed by working your warm market, handing out samples and business cards and all that stuff. If you really want to succeed with your Univera business you certainly can, but in order to do so, you have to start educating yourself in marketing and learn how to grow your business. Again, Univera is not a scam, so if you are ready to actually take the time to learn how to do this right you can succeed with your own Univera business.

How to Tell a Multi Level Marketing or MLM Scam

January 13th, 2010

Are you interested in a home business or in becoming self-employed but you aren’t sure how to tell a multi level marketing or MLM scam?  This is a good thing because of course there are many scams and schemes you can get involved with on the internet and in person that will simply cost you money, not make you money.  And no one wants to lose money through any type of scheme or MLM scam!  Unfortunately those who come up with schemes and scams are usually very good at making them look legitimate and in mimicking real ways to market and sell products.  So how can you tell the difference?  Is there even any way to differentiate between the two?  Let’s take a look at real and legitimate MLM pay structures and companies and an MLM scam and then perhaps you can better protect yourself.  And remember, these tips apply for internet businesses and those you see in person.

The difference between multi level marketing that is real and legitimate and an MLM scam is that most scams and schemes don’t actually sell a product.  Or, they may sell a product but also charge someone for the right to sell that product.  Pyramid schemes refer to the arrangement of getting no product in exchange for what you pay, but instead you’re just purchasing the right to resell those rights to someone else.  You pay money to join the scheme and then get money from someone else to join the scheme.  No product is ever actually received, which is how you know an MLM scam!

In other cases of an MLM scam, you are purchasing an actual product but to have the privilege of selling that product yourself you need to pay for the right to do so.  This may be referred to as a reseller’s rights or licensing rights, but in any case you’re required to pay a price before you can sell.  This is an MLM scam, since you should never have to pay someone to actually work for them!

There is a difference between an MLM scam and a legitimate MLM pay structure.  In real multi level marketing, you get a commission from your own sales and the sales of those you recruit to work under you.  This is simply a type of pay structure that is perfectly legal and legitimate and should not be confused with an MLM scam.  As long as the customer gets a product and you don’t need to pay to sell, everything is probably legitimate!

There are many nationally known companies that work by multi level marketing and which are not an MLM scam, so there’s no need to think that all multi level marketing is a problem.  Being cautious is good but you don’t want to also lose out on legitimate ways to earn a good living just because you’re afraid of everything being an MLM scam, so educate yourself on the difference and you should be fine.

There is no reason why you should be embarrassed about wanting to make more money. If you’re ready to read more about how Team Beachbody can increase your cash flow and get you into great shape, then visit our Team Beachbody Business page.

Is an Isagenix Business an MLM Scam?

January 8th, 2010

If you’re thinking about joining the Isagenix business, you have probably wondered if it is an MLM scam.  It crossed my mind many time, too, so I did some research on how to discern an MLM scam from a legitimate network marketing business.  One of the most important factors, I found, was to be sure that the company you’re thinking about joining is actually marketing a product.  When a company markets just a business opportunity, this is where you will run into a problem.  Also, if you’re going to be sending people “gifts” (usually of cash), I would stay as far away as possible.  Check out my lens about finding out if a company is a scam or not here: http://www.squidoo.com/mlmscam

Now that you know it’s not a scam, let’s talk about what the difference between a really good MLM business and a mediocre networking company is.  An exceptional network marketing company will have two things.  The first thing they will have is a product that both works and is consumable (users have to order weekly/monthly/etc to continue to use the product).  This is important because this is how you get paid! Your downline has to be purchasing products, and you’ll get paid a percentage of their order.  The second part is important for obvious reasons. If you have a product that doesn’t do what it’s supposed to, word will get around and people will stop buying.  Another thing you want is a product that gives physical results, something product users can see. The Isagenix business does this because people who use the product lose weight and inches (if used correctly).  There are a lot of networking companies that market a juice that makes users “feel” better.  Well, “feeling better” is objective and since we were created to forget pain, people usually forget how they felt before using the product and stop.  Of course, Isagenix does make users feel better and have more energy, but that’s not the ONLY thing it does.  When your product creates a physical difference, your product users will see the difference every time they look into the mirror and/or at old pictures!  This will create motivation to continue to use their Isagenix products.

The second important thing the Isagenix business has is a good compensation plan.  Some companies pay on your “weak leg,” and I hate this because to me that translates to: “We don’t pay you for most of your work.”  Isagenix International uses a binary pay plan.  Which means you only have two legs (a right and a left), and since you get paid on anything that happens below you, it creates a real sense of team.  It is advantageous not only for your sponsor to provide you with assistance, but also for ANYBODY above you because they will get paid on what you produce too!  If you’re seriously looking at joining a network marketing business, you’ve probably noticed that some compensation plans can get pretty confusing.  From my experience, I’ve found that the more loop holes a company creates, the harder it is to get paid.  Another thing companies like this do is create a lot of “titles.”  And, usually, the few people with the highest titled make the most money.  In Isagenix, there are only three pay levels: “Associate” is what you come in at.  “Consultant” is when you personally sponsor two people (one in each leg).  “Executive” is when you personally sponsor 10 consultants (5 people in each leg who enroll two people).  The fact that I could describe the pay plan in 36 words is a testimate to how simple it is.

Is Your Internet MLM a Scam? Find Out For Sure Here

January 7th, 2010

So you think that you finally found the right Internet MLM that you would like to be a part of and you are ready to invest. There are many ways to find out if the MLM you are about to support and invest all of your time and energy into is a scam or not. You should investigate these things prior to joining.

Prior to investing in an Internet MLM, you should find out as much information about the company as possible. For example, on the website you should look for contact information and call them. There should be a phone number, address, and even pictures of their executives listed. If there are not pictures of the leaders of the company, this should raise a few flags.

If there is not an address and a phone number but only an email, you should not invest in this company. If the address is there but it is a PMB address and not a P.O. Box, then this means that there is no protection from the United States Post Office. If you are told to send your money via UPS or Federal Express, this should also raise another flag that the company you are about to work with is a scam.

Another way that you can investigate an Internet MLM is by doing a little investigative work yourself. If you have Google Earth, then look up the physical address listed for the company. This will give you satellite images of the exact location they are claiming is their business. This will allow you to see if the business is a large corporation like they might claim, or you might see that it is a trailer house.

Depending on what you find, you will know if you should run or not. Don’t trust a business if they say they are huge and you pull up a house. You can also look for the business name by doing a search with their company name and the word scam next to it. If anyone has posted on the Internet information here, you will find it. You can look up the domain and you can verify if any lawsuits have been launched against the company.

If you are Interested how successful an Internet mlm company is, you can verify their site by downloading the free tool called Alexa. This tool rates websites by the amount of traffic used. For example, the most clicked on website out there is Yahoo and they are rated #1. There are over ten million websites.

If a website has a 9 million rating, it means virtually no one goes to the site. If you see a site that is under 300,000, it is getting a bit of traffic. The lower the number the better the website is and the more traffic it is getting. If your MLM is claiming to be the hottest website around, run the Alexa tool and verify the traffic. The numbers don’t lie.

There are many ways you can verify an internet mlm and see if they are a scam or not. Don’t invest in a company until you have done a thorough search and verified this.

How to Regain Trust of Family and Friends After Being Tricked Into an MLM Scam

January 4th, 2010

If you’ve been in a network marketing company, and talk to your family and friends about it, I can almost guarantee that they asked you if it was part of an MLM scam. I’m sure at the time that you were in the company you believed it was not a scam. After all, if you know was a scam, I doubt that you would have stayed in the company. And I’d double doubt that you would have shared it with your family and friends, because, if you’re like most people, you do not want to cause harm or pain to your family. However, sometimes a network marketing company that is an MLM scam is very good at disguising the reason it’s illegal.

So, now that you’ve found a good business or are looking for a legal business, how do you regain the trust of your family and friends? This is a very tricky task because, most people in today’s society have heard about scams, and it probably took a lot of effort on your part to get them to believe that this wasn’t a scam. So, what I would suggest doing is introducing your new business here family and friends and tell them about it. However, do not try to convince them that this is a legitimate mlm company. The way that you’re going to show them that your company is a real this time is by producing massive results. Once you can show them that you are actually creating money and providing value to the marketplace, and they will probably then believe that your company is legit. However, as with all things, this is not guaranteed. So, getting your family and friends to join your network marketing business should not be your number one priority even if you’ve never been in a company.

Honestly, the big reason that I even suggest that my teammates shared their new business with their family and friends is to cover themselves. Because I have absolute faith that when they start in my MLM business you should know that you are going to do anything it takes to create massive income. So, with that in mind, it is important that your family and friends can not come back to you once you’re rich and say, “Why didn’t you tell me?” So, if you have a family member or friend who won’t listen to you that this new business is not a scam, let them go. Don’t bring up your business anymore. They will start to ask you about it when you start to have results and see money coming in. If they are interested at all, they will join you. Otherwise, you just be their family and/or friend.
