Comsumable vs Membership as MLM Products
February 2nd, 2010
www.ketsangtai.com There are many mlm products out there but the most popular product type is consumable, like health drink, household products and cosmetic products. Another type of product is subscription or membership based products. There are pros and cons of both type of products. After doing lots of research and been involved in different types of products, I have come to a conclusion that membership type products are superior. Here are some of the reasons.
Is there anybody out there that makes $1000 per month or more in MLM(after purchasing training products)?

I am interested to know. I have friends that have tried MLM, but most of them quit. I have a few that are still in it, but they never boast about making tons of money. I would just like to hear from some people who actually have and what they feel that they did differently.

Do You Make This Mistake When Selling Your Mlm Products?
January 17th, 2010
If you’re like me, you’ve probably wondered how some network marketers consistently produce outstanding sales of their mlm products (And, how you can do the same). The truth is, along with consistent effort and determination to win, there are some key strategies that contribute to their success.
What I’d like to share with you today is how to avoid one of the biggest mistakes network marketers make, and how to apply one of these key strategies that can increase your MLM product sales virtually overnight.
Before we get started though, let’s take a look at this simple-yet-deadly mistake most networkers make when selling their mlm products.
Let’s pretend for a moment that you’re marketing weight loss supplements that come in the form of shakes or diet pills. You’re in the middle of giving your prospect what you think is a fantastic product presentation. You’ve clearly pointed out the benefits of your product, anticipated any possible objections, and are almost ready to take the order.
Then, the inevitable happens. Your prospect interrupts your presentation and asks, “Why can’t I just buy weight loss shakes or diet pills from the grocery store?” And all of a sudden everything comes to a screeching halt. Aarrgh!!!
It’s as if they were reading a script and knew exactly when to jump into the conversation with this seemingly impossible to overcome objection, leaving you no choice but to try to compete with the store down the street.
This highly ineffective approach is what’s called an “apples to apples” comparison. And it almost always ends in frustration and the loss of a sale.
In other words, comparing your company’s products to a similar product that’s readily available at a local retailer or online is a death sentence to what would otherwise be a stellar presentation. And the reason this is such a deal-breaker is because using this approach makes it virtually impossible to create a big enough advantage in your product that your prospect has little motivation to buy.
So what’s the solution? Easy, it’s called an “apples to ORANGES” comparison. And not only is it incredibly effective at capturing your prospect’s attention, it makes your job a whole lot easier.
Here’s how it works. Instead of comparing your product to something similar. Compare it to something radically more expensive, time consuming, emotionally exhausting or just plain inconvenient – something that leaves no question in your prospect’s mind that buying your product is a “no-brainer”.
Now, let’s take a look at your presentation using the apples-to-oranges method. And this time, instead of trying to compete with Wal-Mart, we’ll try a comparison to a couple of weight loss “alternatives”.
We’ll start with purchasing weightloss equipment. In this instance, we’ll use the “Bow-Flex Revolution”. This is a popular piece of exercise equipment that currently retails for well over $2000. You can let your prospect know that not only is this machine expensive, but its large size will surely take up lots of space in your home or apartment (and who knows how much assembly is required).
Another comparison to try, how about joining a fitness club? A membership at a national chain of fitness clubs costs about $250 just to start and then $65 for each month after that. This comes out to over $1000 for your first year alone! In addition, a gym membership will demand serious commitment, time, and lots of self-discipline.
One more quick example of this strategy could be:
If the product you market is a pain-relief supplement to treat muscle aches or joint pain. Instead of comparing your product to prescription drugs or over-the-counter pain relievers, try making the comparison to the stress, pain, expense, risks, and hassles of surgery or pro-longed chiropractic treatment.
Are you starting to see how all this works? You want your prospect to feel as though they would be a fool to pass up an offer like yours. Whatever the case may be, effectively using the “apples to oranges” comparison will make it blatantly obvious that your product is the way to go.
Besides increasing your sales numbers (and your commission checks), other benefits of using this technique include:
* No special skills are required – You and your entire downline can start applying it immediately.
* Virtually eliminates the need to overcome objections.
* Makes your presentation alot more enjoyable and relaxed for both you and your prospect.
If you’ve been looking to boost your sales results, then I can’t wait till you try this strategy. Imagine what it would be like if you could walk into any presentation knowing that in just a few moments, your prospect will become your next loyal customer. Don’t believe me? Give it a try and believe yourself. You’ll be amazed at the results.
What are some of the best hypocrisies/claims made in mlm?
January 13th, 2010
1-How about its just like any other business…such as buying a franchise – except when you ask to see their income from mlm (or even their upline who supposedly are successful) its suddenly personal income and none of your business. As if you would ever buy a franchise without looking at the working numbers of the same franchise in other locations.
2-How about “its a ground floor opportunity” or “the time will never be the same to get involved” yet on the other hand the entire compensation plan is for people to be continually signing up forever, with it being geometric so 2, 3, 5 years from now, there will need to be exponentially more people needed to be coming in to continue the same oppotunity…but somehow the opportunity is better now than it will be in the future!
3-How about MLM has a system that cuts out the middle man and advertising costs, yet now several layers of people get paid and mlm products are always more expensive than market.
Tons more. Let’s hear ‘em…
haha…i don’t know if its “hypocritical” per se…but this first answer sure is a testament to the mind set of the MLMer. Every second they get, they are always pitching their MLM bullsh*t. LOL. I post a question about hypocrites in MLM and the first post in someone pitching me their MLM. Man, no wonder MLM has such a bad rep…let it go! Priceless.
Mexico4me: Thanks for your amusing response. Why would I have interested in a business that is set up to fail. Anyone with common sense knows that a geometrically growing network, even 2×2, eventually gets so large its unsustainable. You call that residual income…gimme a break.
Obvious I subscribe to a 45 year plan? Nice work, but your ignorance is showing. Would it kill you to even look at my profile first before making assumption. I am a real estate investor by trade and live off income from apartment buildings. You talk of residual income as though an mlm business actually provides such…but you are dependent on the hope that your downline continues to grow at unrealistic rates, where I, as a real estate investor, am merely dependent on people needing a placer to live.
Rants about MLM? Get a clue…i posted a question in regard to the amusing statements you always hear associated with MLM and you get overly defensive….pahleeeeze!

Network Marketing Now – Secrets for Picking the Right MLM Products for a Strong Profitable Business
January 3rd, 2010
When you are researching MLM and network marketing opportunities, you will often find disagreement about what is most important when choosing your business.
Some believe that the longevity and overall stability of the company is most important. Others believe that you should look first at what is actually being sold. Many others feel that the compensation plan and payout is king.
While all of these are valid considerations, the first key to success in this business is your products. The foundation of your business is your mlm products. Excellent products help ensure a stable, long-term residual income. Strong and profitable network marketing businesses are built on a foundation of quality products that have lasting appeal to consumers. Without a foundation based on quality products, all you really have to offer in the long run is a money-making scheme. Opportunities built around mediocre products tied to highly-hyped compensation plans don’t last, and should be avoided. Your products are the foundation of a strong network marketing business, and the compensation plan is the driving force that makes everything work.
Evaluate your product or service based on the following criteria.
1) The best MLM products should not be “faddish” in nature. A faddish product could be something like the “latest and greatest” weight loss drink. This might be very popular for a while, but will lose much of its luster and popularity when the next “latest and greatest” product comes along.
A few years ago, diet cookies were a hot fad that caused a lot of excitement. Entire opportunities were built around these cookies. They were a good example of fad products. If you are willing to take the chance, good money can be made quickly with hot new items like this. Just understand that your business might go away sooner than later, after you have spent lots of time and effort building it. If you want a long-term stable business with residual income, your best bet is to look for products with lasting appeal.
2) The best MLM products should be consumable. With consumable products, you can build up a customer base and enjoy repeat sales over and over. Nutritional supplements, skin care, and most personal care items fall into this category. You can make money with non-consumable products, but the residual income potential is not as good. Repeat sales will not be as high, and many of your customers will probably be one-time buyers. With non-consumable items you are always having to find new customers in order to make any ongoing income, and you will need a lot of referral business from your existing customers.
Examples of consumable items that have been sold through MLM include: nutritional supplements, skin care, cosmetics, and weight loss supplements. Legal, financial, and insurance related services could also be considered consumable since they are usually purchased on a regular basis.
Non-consumable products typically sold through MLM include: water filtration equipment, air purifiers, and electronic gadgets.
3) The best MLM products are premium quality. They will have expensive, high quality ingredients that are not typically used in ordinary consumer products. Your products should work better or taste better than anything you find in a retail store. This premium quality must be real, not just quality based on claims as described in sales literature.
4) Do the products offer real value for the money? Is the actual price that customers (not involved in the business) pay reasonable? Ask yourself these questions. Whatever opportunity you are considering, be sure to try the products for yourself before making a decision. Would you buy them at the retail prices if there was no potential for profit?
5) The products should have broad appeal with a large potential customer base. Nutritional supplements, home care, and other personal care lines are good examples of this. Consider whether the MLM products you are looking at could be used in almost any home. How can they enhance your lifestyle? Do they really work or perform as advertised, or is it mostly hype and slick packaging?
Take time to carefully evaluate what is offered by any opportunity you are considering. Whatever business opportunity you choose, the products are the secret to establishing a long-term residual income. Don’t pass over this step.
